We cannot adequately convey just how extra special (in a showroom of special) that this 928 is. It is the amazing originality that sets this gorgeous Porsche apart. Look through the detailed pictures and see for yourself, not a restored car, just original state…a time warp Porsche.
Bare in mind that back in the day, one needed around 60k hard earned sterling to purchase one of these 170 mph executive supercars. You needed to be well heeled and have a sense of style to be driving one of these. At a time when the Ford Sierra was the norm, these rare cars looked like they had come from outer space.
Largely hand built, built to a quality rather than a price….there wasn’t anything else to compete. You could spend more money, but with less chance of getting there reliably, in comfort and at speed.
928 were always rare, typically enjoyed by executives to swallow massive miles, some have survived and with appropriate care continue to perform their duty with massive mileage. Nowadays, seeing a 928 on the road is an event and finding a time warp example with barely any mileage is ultra-rare. This one has been used just a little every year, better than it sitting on a shelf so she operates as intended.
This 928 although its built nearly 25 years ago, it looks like a 2-3 year old. The paint appears to be original factory paint, inside like new, underneath still wax protected and without corrosion or degradation. Brackets, fixings, those little details which usually corrode or get replaced are original and intact. This could be a concourse entrant’s dream project.
30,590 miles from new. Interestingly this was kept by Porsche and only put on the road and registered in February 1994 when the Porsche warranty started. She changed hands in March 1995 at 3000 miles and that one owner from February ’95 kept it until 2014. An outstanding piece to add to any collection.
Grand prix white with special order Sherwood green leather, extended to the doors and dashboard. Options include factory sunroof, air conditioning, multi way electric seats, memory driver’s seat, heated seats left and right, 10 speaker sound system with the original Porsche head unit. Tyre pressure monitoring, PDS stability control. Cruise control. Original including the handbooks, tool kit, unused spare and double keys.
The 928 is a Porsche I really believe in, great ones (which are few and far between) are outstandingly capable machines in a way you just would not believe. Much more agile than you may think and one of the very best ways of travelling long distances at a pace. These cars munch the miles. And that becomes evident on the used market where many of them have covered huge mileages with dedicated owners. This one is a really good indication of what it must have been like back in 1991. Simply outstanding. For the people that have actually used them long term, they are irreplaceable. Adrian Crawford.
