Modified Porsche 930 Turbo LHD coupe 1988

Modified Porsche 930 Turbo LHD coupe 1988

This modified 930 Turbo certainly packs a punch.

Left hand drive, German delivered. Matching chassis, engine and transmission numbers. Supplied by us 20 years ago and today, has come back for re sale. 20 years ago it was a memorable machine, with modifications to the engine and suspension carried out by the German owner to create a green missile. And this very special 911 still impresses today.

Delivered new in February 1988 by Rottger-Autovertrieb, OPC Hagen 1 in Germany, the dealer who also performed the early maintenance. It came to the UK in late 2000 with just 74,900 km. Today it has just 115,900 km.

The colour is a special order Moss Green metallic (L20C) with the original black leather interior.

This 930 would not suit the rivet counting buyer, it is not the way it left the factory. Although it’s too long ago to recall the story, it seems to have a seat-of-the-pants estimated 400+ bhp and an adjustable boost knob fitted close to the driver. For the benefit of our staff, we have wound this to the minimum, yet its still remains VERY FAST. You will notice the larger 964 turbo style intercooler taking up the space where the air con condenser typically lived. The car is without the weight of the air con. Suspension, ride height and rear anti roll bar are not standard settings, giving this one a great drive on the road and just the right stance on its split rim 18″ alloys.

The condition….we categorise condition 1-5, 5 being a perfect low mile museum car and that, it is not. Paintwork is largely very presentable, with good shine, the interior, about the same, original black leather in decent condition.

It represents a really good base to improve or make your changes…..the body appears to be free from accident repairs, the front wings appear undisturbed and as for corrosion, we see no previous repairs and none required. The wheels have some kerb scuffing.

The engine and transmission work very well, producing good oil pressure, good performance and sound, smooth shifts and nice clutch. Some maintenance work would be desirable, for example an engine service, some oil minor oil leaks, a replacement heat exchanger etc, but repairs are not included in this price so you can choose what and how you would like. We think most buyers will be interested to make this their own and choose what they want to do and when.

A positive Grade 3, which with some time and investment would easily be a Grade 4. With some maintenance tasks done, you would have a very special machine that is sure to excite.
