Overview

Track focused GT3, for exciting and serious driving.

Gen II 996 are the last of the no-nonsense, no mollycoddling, pure-bred Porsche; and this one benefits from a catalogue of upgrades and enhancements.

C16, UK spec, RHD, originally supplied by OPC Guildford in October 2003, as a 2004 model, to the first of just 3 keepers.

The 411 bhp Manthey Racing M410 engine conversion and remap, was installed just 7 months later, at 5,969 miles, with the work carried out by independent specialists JZM, the first UK agents for the German-based outfit.

Continuous refinements were added and established over time, with the current specification as follows:

  • MR (Manthey Racing) M410 engine conversion.
  • MR exhaust, headers, manifolds and race cats (6.7 kg lighter than standard).
  • MR single mass flywheel.
  • MR prepared KW Variant 3 suspension.
  • MR Uniball strut top.
  • MR air collector (Ram air upgrade/RS Look for rear engine lid).
  • MR carbon rear wing with adaptors for increased downforce.
  • MR friction plates (Cup differential).
  • Alcon brake discs with Pagid RS29’s pads all round.
  • Stainless steel Porsche Tequipment half cage.
  • Schroth 6-point safety harness for driver and passenger.

The changes were carried out by both JZM and during numerous visits to the Manthey Racing workshop, situated within a stone’s throw from the Nürburgring.

OPC Guildford carried out regular servicing and, reassuringly, this GT3 remained under the cover of an official Porsche Approved Warranty for several years, illustrating the quality and approval of the upgrades.

The GT3 was sold in early 2009, and then to the most recent owner approximately 18 months later, in August 2010. All three keepers have continued the alliance with Porsche main dealers, JZM and Manthey, resulting in a comprehensive history folder with detailed invoices and receipts.

Since arriving with us here at Williams Crawford, this 911 has been inspected, rev range checked, and assessed in our workshops, and given a major service, with new spark plugs, coil packs, outer radiators and AC condensers.

It’s all about the driving with this one; and while it may lack a mirror-perfect paint finish, it more than makes up for it in performance.

Our advice is simple…..buy it, use it, enjoy it. Life is too short to say maybe!
