These GTS models feature the 3.0 litre, twin turbo charged 6 cylinder in conjunction with option ‘147 – Carrera Power Kit’, which boosts the output to 444 bhp and 550 Nm torque. Driving all four wheels via the 7 speed PDK (double clutch) semi automatic ‘box, the 0-62 mph sprint takes just 3.7 seconds and the top track speed is listed as 190 mph.
Whilst returning to the aesthetics of the classic Targa roof, with the wide roll bar and curving rear screen, unlike the old days, there’s no faffing around undoing clips and manually removing and folding the Targa panel. The open-top experience is accomplished within a few seconds, either by centre console button or by using the key fob. You can view the performance in the video, it’s pure poetry in motion!
