This 1985 S2 is one of the few manual examples Porsche produced for the UK, with figures suggesting there were just 410 compared to the 1,845 auto versions.

Combining a 5 speed manual ‘box with the big V8 upfront provides a distinctive connection between car and driver; it’s a very satisfying blend and, as a result, a very desirable 928 indeed.

Hugely expensive when new, more so than the 911’s they shared a showroom with. Today, 928 are often overlooked in favour of their air-cooled cousins. But you can enjoy classic Porsche ownership without following the crowd.

Originally supplied on the 1st of January 1985 by Swinford Motors, Official Porsche Centre for Stourbridge, likely to have been one of their demonstrator vehicles.

Five months later, in June 1985, it was purchased by the first owner and remained as part of his family for the next 33 years.

Exclusively serviced by OPC Stourbridge for the first 70,000 miles, followed with further stamps from independent Porsche specialists.

Recent years have seen significant investment and maintenance, including work carried out here at Williams Crawford. There are detailed invoices and receipts plus MOT certificates. The most recent service (including spark plugs and brake fluid) was at 95,921 miles, the clutch was renewed at 93,680 miles and the cambelt at 92,462 miles.

The unmistakable silhouette of Porsche’s Autobahn-devouring GT is an image which adorned so many bedroom walls and dream garage line-ups in times past.
