That was the universal view of the motoring world upon the launch of the Boxster Spyder in 2010. Lighter, lower, and with more power, the rewarding driving experience ticked all the boxes.

Worldwide production was about 1,900; the UK RHD market was blessed with only 230-250 examples. The most popular colour choice was Carrara white, with black running a close second. It seems maybe only 2 were optioned in Aqua blue metallic, and only one of those had Bucket seats.

This low mileage Spyder, first registered in March 2010 for the 2011 model year, was initially owned by Porsche Cars GB.

Owned within the same family since October 2012, this Spyder has been exclusively cared for by OPC Exeter. Serviced to schedule, regardless of the few miles driven, with stamps in 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018, 2020, 2022 and 2024. Further benefiting from ongoing maintenance over the years with invoices and receipts suggesting ‘whatever needed doing was done.’

Unlike its brothers, the Spyder’s roof is a manual affair, and it takes a bit of practice to perfect the procedure. But boy is it worth it! With its lightweight Speedster-style rear, the Spyder looks its absolute best when topless.

The Boxster Spyder is a desirable choice and surely a classic of the future. Limited production numbers combined with a thrilling drive and striking appearance mean these special Porsche rarely appear on the market. Even more unusual is when they are as lovely as this one, in an appealing colour with low miles and ownership, plus a rock solid maintenance history.
