The Gen 2 997 models received some major upgrades; more hp courtesy of the 3.8 litre direct fuel injection 6 cylinder (from 355 hp to 385 hp), a 7 speed PDK (double clutch) semi automatic transmission, revised active suspension management (PASM), and an all wheel drive system derived from its Turbo big brother.

A combination of Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), electronically controlled permanent 4-wheel drive system (PTM), and mechanically locking rear differential provide exceptional handling and grip.
