These pictures have just come in from a client. The story behind them is interesting.  

The owner of the Porsche in the pictures visited us with his wife at our old premises, approximately 8 years ago. It was a cold, wet and dark evening, not very promising weather to be looking at a raw, 911 RSR homage that did not even have a heater.

This couple, whose home is in Malaysia seemed unlikely buyers, but we never guess or judge. The one certainty was that they both had a real Passion for Porsche. Within weeks, by liaising via phone to Malaysia, Gumthon became the owner of the 911 RSR. He explained that he and his wife keep Porsche here in the UK and like to tour Europe with them. The RSR would be going on an adventure that summer. 

This pretty 911 SC is also part of their Porsche life. Gumthon came back to me 5 years ago when he wanted a classic 911 to leave in New Zealand. The plan was to provide a reliable and enjoyable classic 911 that could be depended on and get it shipped to New Zealand. This one, originally supplied new in North America, was ideal. 

Although seeing a car in the flesh before purchase is nice, it’s not a necessity. If you are getting told the truth and receiving accurate information from someone with the expertise to give it, you should be ok. The reality (for us) is that the more trust we are given, the greater the responsibility we feel.

The whole transaction with our client was done on the phone, via WhatsApp and email with pictures and video. We prepared the car as requested, arranged the shipping, and helped with the registration process in New Zealand. 

So to today, out of the blue, we had these pics come through on WhatsApp, prompted by Gumthon finding the note we wrote. It shows our client enjoying another tour with his 911 in New Zealand.  This nearly 50-year-old Porsche is doing exactly what was intended, it’s much loved and appreciated, and it’s very much part of the memories that our client is creating. 

We love having clients Worldwide, many like Gumthon we would call friends, they trust us, and we trust them. We share their passion, and they share ours.

It’s not only the people that get around…it’s the Porsche.

How nice to see these machines creating memories, bringing pleasure not only to the owners, but the people that see them on their journeys. Porsche are for the pleasure of the drive.
