Under the Lights launches Today... A New YouTube Series for People Who Love Interesting Cars.
Today sees the launch of Under the Spotlight, a brand-new YouTube series created for genuine petrolheads.
Whether you’re passionate about Porsche, classic cars, modern performance cars or simply appreciate great engineering, this series is all about getting behind the wheel of some truly interesting machinery and discovering what makes each one special.
Rather than concentrating on performance figures alone, we’ll be discussing the history, engineering, rarity and, most importantly, what these cars are actually like to drive.
How It All Came About
The series has been created by Tide Creative Group led by our good friend and customer, Monty.
We’ve worked with Monty for some time. He’s currently campaigning our Porsche 911 SC competition car, and together we’re also building something rather different—a Porsche Cayenne Turbo that’s being transformed into an off-road camera car to capture some spectacular automotive footage in the future.
When Monty approached us with the idea of filming a series featuring exceptional cars, we didn’t need asking twice.
After all, we spend our lives surrounded by fascinating Porsches.
Episode One – The Porsche 964 RS N/GT
As luck would have it, we’d recently helped one of our clients source and purchase something very special.
A Porsche 964 RS N/GT.
To many enthusiasts, it’s one of the rarest and least understood variants of the 964 range.
Built as a lightweight, competition-focused version of the already iconic Carrera RS, the N/GT was developed for customers who intended to use their cars in motorsport. With reduced weight, a stripped-back interior and a specification aimed firmly at serious drivers, it represents one of the purest driving experiences Porsche produced during the air-cooled era.
We’re extremely grateful to the owner, who very kindly allowed us to feature the car as the opening episode of the series.
It provided the perfect opportunity to explore exactly what makes the N/GT so special.
Behind the Wheel
Joining me is Monty, and together we take a closer look at the car, discussing its history, its engineering and why it occupies such an important place in Porsche history.
Of course, no programme like this would be complete without driving it.
Words can only tell part of the story.
The rest comes from the noise, the steering, the balance and the unique character that only an air-cooled Porsche like this can deliver.
Much More to Come
The good news is that this is only the beginning.
We’ve already filmed a number of future episodes featuring an equally fascinating collection of cars, each with its own story to tell.
So, if you enjoy exceptional machinery, expert discussion and genuine driving impressions, we’d love you to follow the series.
You can watch the first episode from today, and be sure to subscribe so you don’t miss what’s coming next.
Our thanks go to Monty and the team at Tide Creative Group for bringing the series to life. We think you’re going to enjoy what’s in store.
