Walkabout Wednesday: Passion for Porsche in Every Corner
This week, Adrian Crawford takes us behind the scenes for another Walkabout Wednesday — starting in the workshop, wandering through the showroom, and finishing in Special Works, where Porsche dreams are brought back to life.
Inside the Workshop
The workshop hums with activity — a 930 Turbo being readied for its new owner, complete with new tyres, brakes, and air conditioning service. Across the bay, another immaculate 997 (Gen 2) in red undergoes a pre-sale inspection. Every Porsche that comes through is fully assessed, ensuring that when a customer drives away, they know exactly what they’re buying — and we know exactly what we’re offering.
Adrian highlights the variety of cars in for attention: a high-mileage Panamera receiving new discs, a 986 getting a brake service, and a striking Miami Blue 718 that looks almost new thanks to Ian’s meticulous detailing. Whether it’s diesel DPF repairs or delicate electrical fixes, the team’s flexibility and experience make all the difference.
A Journey Through Porsche History
In the showroom, Adrian steps back to 1953 with a line of exquisite 356s — each with its own story. From a beautifully restored burgundy example to a rare right-hand drive Carrera Four Cam once delivered to Thailand, these cars embody Porsche heritage. Some, like an unrestored 356C, are time capsules; others, like a Speedster in red, are ready to be enjoyed again after gentle recommissioning.
Among the highlights: a pair of Carrera Four Cams — only around ten were ever made. Each tells a story of rarity, craftsmanship, and enduring value.
Evolving Generations
Moving through decades of Porsche evolution, Adrian showcases icons from the 911 short wheelbase racers of the 1960s to the impact-bumper 1980s classics. One standout: a 911 first imported by Adrian himself in 1998, still proudly wearing his original “Tested and Approved by Adrian Crawford” sticker. It’s a reminder of how the Williams Crawford story began — a passion for Porsche that continues today.
In Special Works
The tour ends in Special Works, where restoration and engineering expertise shine. Here, a 944 Turbo is revived after years of rest, a 356C receives careful maintenance, and new bespoke builds take shape. Every project combines skill, creativity, and respect for Porsche tradition.
