Overview
1960’s racing legend reimagined for the 21st century.
A Tornado Sports Cars recreation of a Ford GT40 Mk I; a tubular space frame chassis encased in a GRF (glass reinforced fibre) body shell, with power coming from a period correct Ford V8.
Purchased originally as a rolling chassis in 1990, an intended build project for a gent and his son: it was never finished.
Some 30 years later, in November 2020, it was IVA inspected and approved, and UK registered in December 2020.

Established in 1984, Tornado Sports Cars began producing GT40 reproductions in 1989. Since then, they have supplied hundreds of these high quality replicas all across the globe.
Supplied in either full kit form, part built, or turn-key finished, the Tornado cars are, on the surface, 1960’s Ford GT40s, but without the eye-watering price tag of the iconic Le Mans racers.
This car will transport you back to the era of adrenaline-fuelled racers; not only does it look and perform like the original, it is cramped, hot, loud and scary, delivering an outrageously period-correct experience.
