A Guards red 911, with Fuchs alloys and a whale tail spoiler. It’s an absolute classic.

It’s an attractive package. Offering a fabulous driving experience with a soundtrack to match. You get a lively and responsive air cooled 3.2, coupled to the revered G50 5 speed manual gearbox. It’s no surprise that these late production 1989 3.2 Carrera models are recognized as one of the best combinations of 911 to live with.

This one was supplied by Dick Lovett, Official Porsche Centre for Swindon, in January 1989. Optioned with ‘Sport’ equipment; Bilstein suspension, front and rear spoilers plus electrically adjustable Sports seats.

Further specified with a sunroof, rear wiper and 8-speaker with amp ‘High Fidelity’ package. It also has the extra ‘Z’ order special option of Can-Can red leather piping for the front seats; a smart contrast against the black leather.

Over the years, it has been exclusively cared for by either OPC or established independent specialists. Accompanied by a large history folder with invoices documenting its 23 services, from the first at 2,400 miles to the most recent at 84,700 miles. Plus ongoing general maintenance receipts and 20 MOT certificates (from 1997 onwards.)

Adrian knows this car, he sold it to the last keeper back in 2009. The folder contains a copy of the advert and the sales invoice from that deal.

It comes with an official Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, double keys and original spare wheel, tool roll and jack.

This 911 benefits from a decidedly impressive interior, rarely do we see them this good. The seats are firm with little sign of wear and tear. The dash, door tops and trims are very much up to the mark, as are the carpets, instruments and switch gear. Few other cabins offer such an intuitive connection between driver and car.

The bodywork and paint is honest enough, presenting some minor imperfections commensurable with age and model characteristics. These could be addressed if and when a new owner desires.

The 16 inch Fuchs are very tidy, with no scuffing or kerbing.

So, is it in perfect condition? No, of course not……..it just celebrated its 34th birthday for crying out loud! This 911 has enjoyed a great life and is eager for new adventures.

But it is perfect if you’re looking for a genuine Porsche icon to use and enjoy, with scope for improvement and change if you feel the need.
