Some opportunities are worth waiting for. This survivor is one of them.

This 1989 Carrera 3.2 Sport Targa is the kind of Porsche we find once in a blue moon. Finished in unusual Stone grey metallic, it has spent almost its entire life in long-term ownership, remaining largely original and remarkably well preserved throughout.

Originally supplied by AFN Ltd, OPC Guildford in May 1989, it passed to its second owner via Porsche Centre Exeter in July 1990 with approximately 18,750 miles recorded. It would remain with that owner for the next 35 years.

Accompanied by its original service book, MOT certificates and a substantial history file, the car benefits from an impressive record of maintenance by Porsche Centres and respected independent specialists. Between new and December 2009, it received at least 14 services and oil changes, culminating in a top end engine rebuild and replacement clutch at 63,626 miles.

The next decade saw very little use, covering just over 3,000 miles before disappearing into long-term dry storage. It remained there until Williams Crawford uncovered it in September 2025, presenting a rare opportunity to preserve the originality and character of an exceptionally honest classic 911.

We have carried out a sympathetic recommissioning. Fully inspected and serviced, the brakes overhauled, new tyres fitted, Targa roof seals renewed and numerous smaller details carefully attended to. It is now ready to enjoy the road once again.

Factory optioned Sport equipment, including electric seats, sports shocks and that iconic rear spoiler, and further enhanced with a rear wiper, cruise control and the desirable M220 limited slip differential.

From the final year of a celebrated era, these Carrera 3.2 models are a pleasure to live with. Its lively 231 hp flat 6, combined with the smooth G50 5 speed manual ‘box, delivers a fun and rewarding drive whilst handling modern day traffic with ease.

They are all special. This one is just that little bit more so.
