Overview

Hard, fast and exciting RSR Homage (LHD).

This 911 is sensational.

Built to an eye watering specification and exceptional attention to detail for road and track. It is a tribute to ‘Car 47’, the works 1973 24hr Le Mans 911 RSR driven by Claude Haldi and Reinhold Joest.

Immensely fast with over 285 hp dyno reading, and weighing well under 1000kg, this is a 911 that performs, excites, and is more than just show.

It is the work of passion, rather than budget. The bodyshell itself is beautifully built, strengthened in the right places, lightweight RSR fenders, bumper, luggage lid, engine cover and ‘slider’ door windows (glass is available). Finished in silver, clear coated in pearlescent Spectra coat at £250 a litre. The Le Mans Martini livery is a faithful reproduction of the original.

The wheels are RSR style Fuchs by Braid, 15” x 11″ rear and 9″ front, with sticky TB15 Michelins, while 6 pot front brakes and 4 pot rear brakes, with Aeroquip lines routed through the sills, take care of the stopping. Suspension is Gaz Gold adjustable coil overs replacing regular dampers, plus adjustable anti roll bars, poly bushing and rose joints.

Up front is a centre fill fuel tank, with underside protection and an Aeromotive competition integral pump which eliminates the need for swirl pots and pumps. It has a custom motorsport wiring harness, blade and relay fuse box and heated front and rear screens.

At the heart is a 3.0 flat six, which when dyno tested gave 289 hp. The engine specification includes; knife edged crankshaft, Carrillo rods, boat tailed crankcases, Wossner pistons, reworked ported and polished heads, high lift cams and a lightweight flywheel.

Induction is with Jenvey electronic throttle bodies with standalone programmable DTA S80 ECU. Sparks are handled with individual coil over plug pack ignition system, and the exhaust has custom race headers. Rebel Racing engine mounts hold things firmly in place and there’s a correctly ducted RSR style front oil cooler.

Inside is FIA specification safety: FIA Heigo full safety cage with removable door bars, FIA Recaro Profi SPG bucket seats and Sabelt 6-point harnesses. Quick release Momo Prototipo steering wheel, plus a 917 style wooden gear knob with quick shift gear mechanism for the 5 speed 915 with LSD.
