Overview
Gen 2 987 wears its classic Porsche colour well.
Looking good in Guards red with a black hood and interior, it’s a mystery why we see so few Boxsters with this colour combination.
The red theme continues subtly and tastefully, with a body-coloured rear centre console and red seat belts, and the factory ‘S’ red brake calipers are clearly visible through the 18 inch five-double-spoke alloy wheels.
Further factory specification includes:
- Sports seats in black leather.
- Smooth leather Sports steering wheel.
- Stainless steel door entry guards with ‘Boxster S’ logo.
- Climate control.
- Porsche Communication Management 3.0 with navigation and mobile phone modules, universal audio interface and Sound Package Plus.
Mid engine power comes courtesy of a 3.4 litre 6 cylinder, upgraded for the second generation with Direct Fuel Injection (and no IMS bearing), and an increase to 310 hp.
