When Porsche unveiled the Boxster Spyder in 2010, the verdict from the motoring press was almost unanimous. Lighter, lower and more powerful, it distilled everything enthusiasts loved about the 987 into its purest and most rewarding form.

Worldwide production was about 1,900; the UK RHD market was blessed with only 230-250 examples in total – the Boxster Spyder remains one of the rarest modern Porsche road cars.

Benefiting from a mid-engined layout, sending power to the rear wheels via a 7-speed PDK transmission and limited slip differential. The 3.4 litre 6 cylinder gets a factory boost to 320 hp and 370 Nm torque; 0-62 mph comes up in just 4.8 seconds.

Initially registered in September 2011 to the first of five keepers. It has a full Official Porsche Centre service history with stamps in 2013 at 7,807 miles, 2015 at 14,497 miles, 2017 at 19049 miles, 2019 at 22,428 miles, 2021 at 23,450 miles, 2023 at 33,349 miles and 2025 at 40,910 miles.

Unlike its brothers, the Spyder’s roof is a manual affair, and it takes a bit of practice to perfect the procedure. But boy is it worth it! With its lightweight Speedster-style rear, the Spyder looks its absolute best when topless.
