Porsche 987 (Gen II) Cayman PDK 2010

Just landed, a second generation Cayman with unusually high specification.

Supplied in April 2010 by OPC Reading, to the first of just 3 keepers.

Basalt black metallic, with 18 inch Cayman S II alloy wheels.

Inside, the first thing to note is the extended black leather with silver stitching; covering the seats, with highlights for the dashboard, centre console and door trims.

There’s a splash of colour from the optioned Speed yellow seat belts, instrument dials and leather-edged floor mats.

The steering wheel is a factory-fitted SportDesign version, featuring ‘flappy paddles’ for manual PDK gear changes; a desirable (and expensive) choice.

Audio and communications come courtesy of the touchscreen PCM 3.0, with integrated navigation, telephone module and Universal Audio Interface (for external devices.), plus the 9-speaker Sound Package Plus system.

Further specification includes:

• Heated seats, electrically adjustable, with memory function for the driver’s side.
• Rear ParkAssist.
• Cruise control.

The service history includes some from official Porsche centres (in 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2018). In the past 4 years, this Cayman has been driven less than 5,000 miles, yet has benefited from a further 2 services, carried out here at Williams Crawford (in 2020 and 2024).

Further maintenance includes renewed air con condensers, front coolant pipes and exhaust fixings.

The 2.9 litre 6 cylinder engine was introduced especially for these Gen II Cayman, with 265 hp and no IMS bearing issues to worry about. The 5-speed Tiptronic was upgraded to the 7-speed, double clutch (PDK).
