Figures suggest that just 16 UK-market 993 Carrera 4 cabriolets carry the rare ‘W’ 1998 VIN date digit, placing this car among the last of the air cooled 911 ever produced.

Delivered in September 1997 by AFN Park Lane, west London’s official Porsche centre, to the first of only 6 keepers.

Finished in L744 black metallic, a colour that shifts with the light – not quite black, not quite grey, perfectly accentuating the curves of this open-top 911. Complemented by a fully electric black hood, which was renewed in 2019, with a matching tonneau, plus manual wind deflector.

The Cashmere beige and black interior offers a warm contrast, enhanced by ‘Z’ order additional leather for the knee roll and matching Cashmere carpets, all protected by black over mats.

Factory options include lightweight 18 inch Technology hollow spoke alloy wheels, electrically height adjustable seats, cruise control, air-conditioning, on-board computer, aluminium gearknob and handbrake lever plus CR-21 radio cassette.

The soundtrack from the 285 hp 3.6 litre air cooled Varioram flat 6 is enhanced with option M159-style airbox and exhaust tip upgrade.

The history suggests this 993 has been enjoyed to the full, with previous owners having services completed in both Greece and Germany as well as the UK.

Maintenance plus a fresh major service with new spark plugs and a brake fluid change will be completed here in the Williams Crawford workshop ensuring this fabulous 993 is all ready for its next adventures.
