Porsche 993 (911) Targa manual 1996

Glorious, air cooled, and out of the ordinary.

Turquoise green metallic appeared as a one-year-only colour for the 993 range, so finding them is not easy. Add into the mix, the rarity of a RHD manual Targa (333 examples), plus a Classic grey leather interior with light root wood trim, and you’ve got a really unusual and striking example.

Accompanied by a detailed history folder cataloguing the ongoing care this car has received throughout its lifetime; 19 services, receipts and invoices for general maintenance, plus 23 MOT certificates. The Targa-specific 17 inch alloy wheels were fully refurbished less than 1,000 miles ago.

A Targa model has featured in the 911 line-up since 1967, but for the 993, Porsche introduced an updated version of the popular open-air variant. Instead of manually removing the roof section, the 1996 model saw the introduction of an all-electric sliding glass panel to bring the outside in; perfect for a sunny day. When the weather’s not so great, close the roof and sunblind and you’re immediately back in cosy coupe territory.

Power comes courtesy of a 285 hp 3.6 litre Varioram air cooled engine, driving the rear wheels via a 6 speed manual ‘box.
