This 2012 model Cayenne 3.0 V6 turbo diesel is a familiar face – it has been in regular use here at Williams Crawford for almost two years. With 118,000 miles, it has clearly been used for the job Porsche intended, but this big, torquey diesel was built to cover the miles.

And it covers them so well – this really is a lovely Cayenne to drive. Spacious, supremely comfortable and effortless, it’s exactly the sort of car that makes a long journey feel easy. Load up the family and luggage, point it at the other end of the country, and go! With 550 Nm of torque, even fully loaded, or with something substantial hitched to the back – it takes everything comfortably in its stride. Suddenly, this Cayenne makes an awful lot of sense.

The Jet black metallic bodywork is more than presentable, though obviously not perfect. This is a Cayenne with work still to do – and you won’t have to be too precious about it.
