Today we take a look at the parts of a Porsche that few get to see, the underneath. It’s from here you can appreciate how Porsche have evolved over the course of the last 70+ years.

The engineering excellence remains. But of course, what they knew then was a lot different from what they know now. 

The importance, of understanding the technology, of how to maintain them, and the expertise required remains the same whether 992 or 356.

One of the biggest challenges we face is the fact we cover over 70 years of these cars, but that said, it’s also a major strength, and keeps everyone here interested.

Just seeing underneath it’s surprising how tiny and simple the 356 seems today, yet in its time it would have been viewed as an exotic European sportscar to rival a Jaguar.

In this video we go from a 356, through to 992, and take a peek at the 944 transaxle, plus some mid-engined machinery as well. There is also one of our competition Porsche viewed from underneath, where the differences to a production model can be best seen.
