Two young ladies, one Porsche, and a racetrack…

What could possibly go wrong?

Promises. Before it’s too late, and my daughter Georgina gets swept up into a more complicated life, it’s nice to have some father / daughter time. Something memorable.

I booked a day at Castle Combe racetrack, a nice hotel, and rented helmets from the organisers.

Georgina brought her friend Molly as moral support.

Add one Boxster.

Although there are instructors available, I have lots of experience at Castle Combe, so I sat beside Georgina, got her settled in, and at the very least…lapping on the right line. It’s not like a race, and therefore, if there is a faster car it can wait until it’s safe to pass easily.

Meanwhile, Molly’s experience is driving round Cornwall in a Nissan Micra…so what can you expect from a raw beginner?  She listened, did as I asked, and soon built her confidence. It was her first time in a Porsche, her first time at a track, and she’d never have dreamt of doing such a thing.

The Boxster is a perfect companion on track, lovely balance, easy to drive, and can be surprisingly effective.

So, how did the two young ladies get on? They did great!

Molly soon showed that she had an interest, asking questions, and getting better all the time. Georgina was initially more cautious, though she really started to get the taste for it by the end of the day.

This is a superb way to get to know a car, improve your driving skills, and share in some fun. It felt really good to have shared the passion for Porsche and for enjoying the drive.

Should you like to try this, get in touch and we will help.

Let’s keep sharing the passion.

P.S. The ‘other’ Boxster, a 986 was brought from us by our friend and marketing expert Leon at kioo.co.uk. Leon was there with his Porsche and sharing it with three friends. The full lap video is Leon at the wheel.
